HONG KONG - Fans of Apple Inc. AAPL -0.56% products weren't the only ones surprised by the company's unveiling of a new smartphone on Tuesday which was more of an upgraded version of the iPhone 4 than a whole new device. Fake iPhone 5s have been circulating in markets around China for weeks, as counterfeiters apparently misjudged Apple's strategy, betting it would debut a fifth-generation device, according to reports from the region. At Beijing's Fang****ong Market, the fake iPhones reportedly cost a little over $43, compared to $199 for entry-level iPhone 4S, according to pricing released by Apple on Tuesday. A Sky News report cited one merchant of counterfeit wares in Beijing as saying designs for the fake iPhone had been adapted from photos on the Internet
