Chinese ipad lookalike android tablet

Hi,

A friend of mine bought a tablet in china that runs Android. This doesn't want to boot however. Does anyone know where I can get the roms to flash one of them back into life?

Is it not powering up or just not getting into the OS? If the latter try holding the vol - rocker down while powering up.

Screen lights up, but that's where it stays. I'll try the volume down trick to see if that works, thanks.
 
No idea. There's no names or numbers of any kind on it. Used to boot up with the android logo and a kernel version no, but that has vanished after a previous flash attempt.

I assume the battery isn't removable? Details are usually printed underneath the battery pack but if it's like a real tablet, that's no help.
 
This one has a lot less ports (power, micro sd and some proprietary port). It might be a E18 Mid WM8650 tablet upon further queries to my friend. Going to dig around for it on techknow over the long weekend
