So I need to bake a chocolate wedding cake...
Any tips or advice?:o

Do they know that you're inexperienced in baking?

lol I'm not completely inexperienced. I have baked wedding cake before but this couple wants moist chocolate cake with caramel inside and only buttercream icing on the outside - nothing like normal wedding cake or white icing.

The last chocolate wedding cake I made still had fondant on the outside but just normal icing? I'm not sure what to do...

1. Bake a moist chocolate cake with caramel inside.
2. Put butter cream icing on the outside.
3. ????
4. Profit!!!!

The trick with moist chocolate cake is to not bake the cake too much.

Outsource it...

They're not paying me. I'm just doing it as a favour.

But I still want it to look nice.

I usually put a chocolate collar around the chocolate cakes but I've done that so many times I just want to try something a bit different. Just don't know what.

What to do to make it look as good as it tastes.

The recipes look delicious. I'll have to try them each. Twice. Just to make sure if they are any good.

Slightly off topic.

The wife and I ordered a chocolate cake with mouse filling.
Unfortunately the baker thought we wanted a cake made of chocolate mouse.

He delivered an entire cake for 200 people made of chocolate mouse.
It proceeded to melt and leave us with a puddle of chocolate.

:(
