Hi, I am still looking for a car, must be a SUV, and not thirsty. I am looking at 3 models, a Duster EDC zen second hand about R300 000, or new XUV300 diesel W6 , or Magnite MT. I am driving about 50 000km per year, People who have drive with my say I need a bakkie, but it will need those slide things in the back, and I believe bakkies are a bit heavier on juice. In my area the word pothole is real. I don't drive fast, no robot to robot racing for me.

Duster , goodnight
Double +1

Find yourself a neat low mileage 4x2 diesel duster. Fantastic reliable solid motor.
Not sure if you looking for auto/ Manual

Friend has the 1st gen diesel duster that has clocked 250 000km with not much issues and still running on OEM turbo and clutch plus his its manual.

Late post anyway...
I bought a 2nd hand Duster this year, 2018 Prestige 2x4 EDC 1.5 dci, paid R260 000. Had 56000km on the clock.
The car has been a joy to drive, and is actually very well equipped. The fuel economy is quite close to what Renault claims.

If fuel consumption is a concern its hard to beat the duster. Ive got one of the early 4wd ones with all terrain tyres and I typically get around 12km/l in town and 14 to 15km/l on the open road. The 2wd should be quite a bit better.
