can someone recomend a good quality cost effective 10/100/1000 ethernet switch ??

I bought a cheap @ss swith a few years back for R299 and its been working 24/7 for 4years now with no problems at full traffic. So i guess anyone will do.

What's it for?
What's your budget?
How many ports?
Office/home environment?
What sort of network traffic is on your lan?

For heavy usage/office/mission critical look at 3COM and HP managed (or unmanaged if you don't need this)

For desktop / small usage go for D-Link, Netgear or the budget 3COM range.

3COM are my preference.
