So Octotel has just put fibre in on our street. I've taken a look at the various ISPs I can use and I'm completely overwhelmed. Uploads aren't important, and most ISPs seem to hover around R580 for 10Mbps which should be fine for now.

I've heard terrible things about WebAfrica's service, so looks like my choices are RSAWeb, HomeConnect and maybe Vox? I'm a pretty heavy downloader (200 - 300GB/month), so shaping is a worry. Does anybody here have any specific recommendations?

Possibly a stupid question

Are fibre lines isp locked, so if the line is through telkom could I say use a internet solutions account for the data?

With telkom/openserve it's as easy as changing your isp login details, others not so simple from what I gather.
