Hi. I hope this is the right section.

Untitled.jpg

Attached is a pic of my google chrome. Recently its been getting A LOT of ads. I don't know where they're coming from and how to get rid of it. Sometimes when I'm on youtube one of them will start playing music! right now I constantly have a banner across the bottom of my screen. It's really annoying. Any suggestions?

Any help appreciated :)

Go to Settings->Extensions and disable/remove anything that might look like it is the cause. Also add Adblock Plus extension.

Yeah was about to say, Ad block ftw. Looks much different:

OT: What OS is that ?
Ubuntu Minimal install, then installed the same packages Crunchbang would install on a debian base.
So in short:
- Openbox for window manager
- Tint2 for bar at the bottom you see. which does the virtual desktop, open app icons on left, systray on the right
(the bar is transparent, so what you see at the bottom is part of my wallpaper)
- Compton for compositor, its like compiz, but a very lightweight variant
- Conky you can't see, but it shows some shortcuts and system info.

So basically it is Ubuntu, that looks and works mostly like Crunchbang linux and modified a tiny bit to my taste.
