Chromecast infinite update loop

Hi all,

Wonder if someone can help.

So my chromecast is stuck in an infinite update loop. It updates to 100% then restarts then starts the update again from zero. I have swapped HDMI ports and powered it from the wall but still no luck. I have read online that's it's a bug but haven't found a fix. Has anyone here experienced the same thing?

I suggest you hard reset it:

While the Chromecast is plugged into the TV, hold down the button on the Chromecast for at least 25 seconds or until the solid LED light begins flashing on the Chromecast device and the TV goes blank and begins the reboot sequence.

Tried that. Still no change. Read online that it's a common issue.
