Almost 30, in sales, going nowhere. Going to study account as im selling accounting software but only have a certificate in sales.

Was not sure what to study but then saw that with cima you can study with them from certificate up to advance diploma and then get your cgma instead of going the normsl route.

Has any one here done the cima route from the start (cima cert in business accounting)? Did you do it directly through them or fid u use a local institution? Did you find work/promotion easy enough compaored to someone who dig a degree and then thei cima strategic level?

You can go through them or through a university. University better because they go through it in detail then you apply for the accreditation/exemption. But people can't go through the university route so they go through these smaller providers.

Got my CA Sa recently thinking of doing this in 2 years time since I just have to do one module and write one exam. For the cima

The question isn't so much whether you can do CIMA, it's rather should you do CIMA. Not sure how much weight it would carry without a degree of some sort, as the type of roles associated with these normally requires that.

Is there a reason you're specifically looking at going into finance? The IT sector has made some in roads in terms of people not having degrees, and opens a vast array of opportunities - design, UX, coding.. Various.

Im open to IT, thinking database administration, but have now idea which why to go. Analysis would have been my second choice.

Plenty of free courses available to skill you up. Once you're immersed you'll start hearing what Certs are worthwhile and respected and which aren't.

Check out class central or searching online courses.
