Hi Guys,

Has anyone come across this protection yet?

So I sat down on the couch with my girlfriend and a big bowl of popcorn, ready to watch Red Riding Hood which I wirelessly stream to my PS3 via PC.

So 20 seconds into the movie I get this error saying that this copy is illegal and just stops working.

After a quick google, I see that this DRM has been around for a while already! It works by embedding inaudible frequencies into the audio track, which the PS3 then picks up and then stops the playback. This protection works for CAMS, R2, !!!

Very Irritating! How long until a barcode on your forehead is a prerequisite to vote.

Can't you rip the content and then stream it?

Dont think so, the code is embedded in the audio and as it is just the .avi (and not the original Blu-ray Disk I cant rip it from scratch), so changing the format only reincodes the frequency. For now its not too bad as I can use other hardware that do not have this crap DRM tech on it, I'm just worried that all players are going to have to have this installed into them.

@luxe: You wont believe it but this was the second time I had downloaded the copy, the first copy I dl was a fake, obviously put out by someone related to the film, with good comments/ratings, and thousands of seeders. Assh%les are poisoning the swarm! Just have to be careful in future I guess.

I suppose this can just be a warning to others :D hope that third times a charm!
