They all baffle me in terms of wanting people to buy snacks with them but having such a limited range.

For the past 30 years, it's been Astro, wine gums and whispers.

Can they not expand their range a little? Why not partner with Woolies/Mr sweets for example and sell their sweets?
why stop there? Start selling chips even.
