Hi,

Have you ever registered a company with the CIPC via FNB. How long does the process take? Did it go smoothly?

I know FNB will do it for free but you'll pay the R125 registration fee. They'll just open you a business banking account with them.

Not worth it IMO.

  • Communication slow
  • They don't do name reservations/business naming on registration
  • You start paying bank charges immediately
  • Whole process took me two months

Rather use a service that does company registrations, only a few hundred extra. And get the bank account when necessary.

Go with SwiftReg directly. Don't opt for the quick 3 day options from other companies where you buy a shelf. This is if you want to be able to transact as a business in a short space of time, as you'll need to have director changes processed beforehand which takes an age. Takes 2 days for naming and up to 6 weeks for final registration. That's just CIPC's process...

Thanks. Swiftreg looks good. Have you ever used them personally or know of someone who has?

I've used them plenty. Currently working with them as we speak. Just follow the process precisely. If you need help just shout...

SWIFTREG is a NO NO!

I would not go with them again!
THey take your money before hand and over charge you extra for name reservation, PER (one) name.
I paid them these fees and more, and after lots of consultation they provided no service.

I was really disappointed that the name I chose they denied yet, when I went through someone else I got the name and busy with my company now.

They are inflexible, and you will just be a number, if you comfortable with that, sure thing.

I have email correspondance to confirm.
