Circuit Boards - PLZZzzzzzzzz.......

http://www.cboards.co.za/
They are somewhere in the Pta/Jhb area and seems to be what you're looking for.

I'm looking for the same but down here in Cape Town.

I've etched a few board myself and most of them are working, but never high quality. Been using the lazer printer transfers but always had a few "fixes" to do after etchting.

Haha, holy crap, somehow I think he's got those boards made already. Honestly, this thread is 6years old, 6 years! :wtf:

Apologies for the thread necro, but could be relevant for other searching for making circuit boards/PCBs.

So I wanted to have a PCB board made for my hobby project.

Emailed a few places in SA that manufactures boards(my gerber files etc.), but up to date have not even received a reply to say yah or nay.

Decided to take my chances and used PCBway to make my board. They are based in China, and you use their site to place your order.

I finalized/payed my order on the Friday, and Monday my boards were shipped.

Reliable shipping is either with DHL or Fedex. The only crap is, if you are like me and don't live in a major city, you get charged an extra 23 USD, so I had them shipped to my friend's address who stays in Pta.

Shipping to him via Fedex was 24 USD, which arrived in a weeks time.

My board manufacturing cost was 5 USD. Now granted, I didn't take fancy high commercial quality options, since it's for prototyping and for me to use.

Specs of the PCB for those interested:

2 layer
FR-4 material
TG 150-160
Thickness 1.6
Surface finish: HASL with lead
Copper finish 1 oz
Minimum order pieces: 5

I originally wanted to go with plain green solder mask, but decided I wanted to try the black one. :)

Happy with what I got and would use them again for other small PCB projects.

I'v used them a couple of times myself and even with the expensive shipping costs its still a LOT cheaper and very worth it, than doing it local (I've used the local company central circuits a couple of times and they were expensive AF for once-off boards - tooling costs were crazy).

The quality of their boards are great.

They definitely get a +1 from me as well.

That's brilliant! I always kinda skipped over them thinking it'd be expensive for shipping (or lost in mail), but those boards look good. Will give them a try next time I feel like building something.
