During my spring cleaning, i managed to find a few of these Cisco ATA 186 voip adapters in one of my boxes.

I wanted to update the firmware to the latest (3.2) for SIP.

Anybody have an idea where i can download the latest firmware image...preferabely directly from the ATA from the internet (dialing the ip) rather than the tftp method

Any way will work, i just want them up and running sweet

There are some links to download firmware.

Good luck. I also have some of these ancient door stops lying around :)
They were the predecessor of the Sipura which then became the linksys PAP2. All made by the same guys.

Let us know how it went!

The, will have a look.
Used to do VOIP a lot, we had a whole clarent gateway setup at datacenter in london. Went to Clarent offices in Denver for traimimg That was before everyone started doing it, and it became less profitable.

Spring clean painful, with wife looking over my shoulder, I through away some managed switches , lcr devices and the like. I drew the line at my Cisco routers (1600) and these at a adapters, had to promise her cheap calls to her parents in UK

Am looking at the obihai ata adapters , which do Google voice also:p

Yeah, managed to get round to doing this today.

Firmware update successful. Thanks for the link.
Used my fnbconnect account for my sip details
Managed to sort out my out the outgoing calls quite easily, and was struggling with incoming calls until i did some port forwards on my router.

Used this guide to help optimise: http://www.loligo.com/asterisk/Cisco/ATA-186-guide.v20030628.txt

Will test a bit, and see how it goes. I have 3 of these, and so am unlikely to use all.....so might gift 1 to any forumite who would be interested.

Once again, thanks voipguy
