+1 Those Citi golfs design cost's been paid off over a decade ago, They still have the same (basic) design from the 80's. I dono why they charge so muchfor them.

Why create another thread? All round (except for JK8 who gets a hard on when he sees one) you will probably get the same answer: Citi Golfs are absolute and utter crap.

Crap?
I agree, it's not the safest and it's old style, but: Mine gets me from A -> B everyday, without a hiccup. I do about 80km everyday. It's light on fuel and parts are inexpensive. Car is also easy to work on to save on labour costs.

AFAIK they all hand built so that could be the reason for the price increase.

They ok cars, people just like bashing and acting all high and mighty about the safety and design...
The design is fine, I like it, so do many others...
Safety might be an issue.

Citi golfs are known by their distinctively outdated 70's lines and breaking in two when they crash.

They are a big FU from VWSA to the South African consumer whom they believe do not have the internet and knows of the existence of cars like the VW Gol and Fox.

Dammit I hate VW!!! and Sh1t1 golfs even more...

Hand built?!?!?! Wahahahahahah please share where you got that gem from JK8...

Safety MIGHT be an issue?.. Safety IS an issue with that POS.... and the design is basic, so it wins no points, positive or negative from me....

Yip they handbuilt!
The machines only last 10 years, from 1993 to 2003, now they all hand built...
If VW do intend to discontinue the car in the near future it will be useless to buy a new machine.

Who needs airbags?

JK8 : No offence dude, but there is NO way the citigolf is handbuilt.. at all... its cheaper for VW to have the machines than to employ all those ppl since the lines are configurable to the model of car being produced.

As for airbags... in a shyttigolf they're pointless since the car just crumples and kills anyone inside anyway.

Check out this video on youtube of the 10 worst crash tests : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ig735D8Nfhk

Not only does it feature the VW Beetle, VW Golf Mk1 and VW Type2 bus - pay attention to the Chinese built Brilliance BS6 and Jiangling Landeind. These two vehicles both have airbags but it only aids in the injuries given to the driver by directing the head out of the car. Airbags are useless without structural integrity.

If you want to see proper structural integrity then here is true German examples of that : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZIB8G0xx4cE

What's the difference between a dog turd and a citi golf...

...it's less embarrasing to have a dog turd on your front lawn.

The thing i don't get about the new citi with the Lightning Audio system is that every criminal knows it has this system as standard. Even worse, the amp is under the front seat in plain sight.

Apart from safety there are many other reasons not to buy a Citi or any VW for that matter. Firstly South Africans love bakkies more and you don't look cool with duct tape mirrors neither with chrome door handles. At least you will be sure that the trafficops will help to push you to the side of the road but break ups are a reality. Speaking of which your Citi might break in two and if all goes well your best relationship will be with a tow rope...

Lol! You get an E for Effort!:p
