Cities to replace informal settlements

Plastic View, next to Woodhill in Pretoria is the first one of these densification projects. The land of 216 ha will be auctioned on 24 March 2015 to the highest bidder. It is not mentioned what will happen in the interim to the more than 1000 squatters living there now.
The only result will be that new illegal squatter camps will be formed next to the newly developed settlement. The more attractive you make it, the more immigrants from all of Africa will be lured to SA.

They could always build "slum-scrapers" like in the previous Dredd movie. That would resolve the issue of finding enough space.

They will just me to the cemetery.

I understand what they are trying to do, how will you ensure that you are only providing for South Africans and what will you do with the foreigners? As I understand that was part of the problem the last year when they tried to start sorting through the people, as the court instructed. What do you do with the foreigners and illegals?

Foreigners- if legal, need to find an alternative place of accommodation. The illegals should be deported, simple.

Yeah right, firstly empty promises by government again and all this is for is for tender fraud for the coffers.

Are they going to pay rates and taxes, water and lights or are they going to steal from those paying. The crime will increase and the factories will be empty and carried away. Give them land and they will build shacks on it. Are bylaws going to be adhered to and plans submitted as other areas must abide by.

You promise to give everything and sometimes do is this a good thing for the people themselves, for the finance of the country etc.

You are just creating a vote platform that all.

Iirc there. Is now legislation that says the muni can decide what rates and taxes people should pay in the same Townships.
I just want to know why they think plastic view is close to industry. And what stops a developer from developing high cost housing? Will the muni just not approve the plans?
