Citroen DS Offers

As Fazda said, if you're the type of person to buy a new car anyway every 3 years it's a good deal.

For sure, I wouldn't mind doing this as well but the killer for me is that you have to buy another car from them and only tem in 3 years... you going to lose a lot if you want to go to another brand.

The DS5 is an excellent deal and a great looking car too, it is way more unique and interesting than the bulk of the cars sold in that price range.

Is the ds5 still available ? its not listed on the local citroen website.

Seems to have been taken off the website. Hopefully to be replaced by the facelift version coming soon.

Only info I can find in the current gen is from Citroen Tygervalley. Not certain if they have any stock. http://www.citroencape.co.za/car-specials.aspx

Will ask them tomorrow about the DS5 as I have to collect some clips for the cover for the hatch of my DS5.

The reviews of the DS5 aren't great , topcar car says its a harsh ride. car says the same thing. Whats your take ?

Will give my opinion later. On mobile at Citroen.

Spoke to the sales rep and he says that Citroen and the DS brand has split and that Peugeot-Citroen PSA will not be selling the DS brands going forward. He is not sure if DS will launch here on the own.

Latest UK reviews mention the split & no Citroen branding on the latest cars at all. DS5 is called (Brand) DS & (Model) 5. DS 5.

Wonder what the rationale was behind their decision.

Would be a pity if the new DS models don't make it to SA. Citroen Tygervalley has one new DS5, one demo DS5 and one DS3(not sure if new/demo) on the floor for sale.

Not regretting the decision to get the DS5. The ride is hard when compared to other cars in the same segment though. Cabin is comfortable with plenty of legroom at the back. Very quiet with very little outside noise filtering in. Standard features included satnav with Bluetooth, heated, electric adjusted leather seats with massage function, dual climate control, heads up display, reverse camera, speed limiter and cruise control, xenon headlights with work turning function.

There is not much I don't like about the car. Feels like sitting in the cockpit of a plane with the overhead controls for the panoramic roof covers. The cup holders in the door does not work with bigger cans of the plastic bottles and could have been designed better. The centre console is however big and is kept cool with the aircon. I think it has its own aircon as when the cabin is set on hot, the centre console still keeps everything in there cold.

I also have the C4 EGS6 which my wife used to drive but now she only drives the DS5 with the C4 being mine by default. I prefer the C4 though as it's more sporty but we use the DS5 when we go on long trips.

How long have you had the DS5 ? The first time i saw one was in mid 2015 and i think its the most beautiful car on the market. It looks like it was created for a Michael Bay sci fi movie. I hope the face lifted DS5 is not a step back in terms of appearance like the new Mercedes C class or new Honda Accord.

Bought it early 2013. I think the new one is even better looking. I'm still waiting on Citroen SA if they will be bringing in the new DS models.

According to offical Citroen info, the DS line will be sold through it's own dealerships but in some markets it will be through the existing dealerships. I don't care either way as long it gets here.

One more thing I was dissapointed with and it was my own fault for not getting the info on the car sooner was that the DS5 does not come with a spare. It only came with a puncture repair kit and the tires were normal tires. Not even fitted with runflats. They do have a spare tire and bucket that can be fitted under the car but is an optional extra at about R7k. Would have added it during the finance application if I had known. Tire size is also an obscure size that took me good few days to source. I now have a spare tire at home that I kept from after the last tire change. Dont have a rim but will only be used in an emergency should the tire shops not have any in stock if I need a replacement..
