Last week City Power did the conversion to prepaid took the technician less than two minutes to synchronize the keypad by keypading a specific code to pair the keypad to talk to meter before letting the installer leave quickly purchased tokens the first time with successful purchase, after the installer left quickly sent an email to City of Jo'burg with meter reading(photo) ; meter number ; City Power reference number for job card and installers details (photo). Next day received communication from City Power informing me they have notified system update department to close my account as I am now converted to prepaid.
I purchased enough units for the month but decided why not top up and take advantage of step tariff 1 rates before winter season comes and to my discover was unable to purchase any tokens from 3rd party providers logged a reference and still waiting for City Power to come back to me - has this ever happened to anyone.
