I had some pretty sad games on SGS recently. One group grabs all the armor and then move in a group so that they repair each other and then proceed to slaughter the other side. Because the other side is just random rabble, they are defenseless against an organized group.

So, instead of a fun game, it is again a case of some trying to get as many points as possible in the shortest time, while preventing the other side from getting any. This seems to me a lot worse that the chopper hopper days. So, while both sides have about the same number of tickets, so both should have a change to rack up some points, this does not seem to happen.

For me it is not fun being on either side. Being on the winning side, one seldom sees anybody to kill, since the other team's troops are all killed of at the spawn points. And I do not even want to talk about being on the loosing side.

I remember the days when it was impossible to get on the SGS servers early in the evening. But yesterday evening, the one server was empty and the others only about half full. And on the server where I played, people were logging out in disgust in droves.

Are there anybody going to be left soon for these organized gangs (it seems especially one gang) to get points from?

I've had similar experiences in several games - CSS in particular can suck when playing against an organised clan with a team of random tossers. Usually these kinds of CS games degenerate into camping matches...not much fun at all.

I guess the irony of team-based games on public servers is that the games suck when actual teams play on them!

You're both right. I love playing with a well organized bunch of , because we work well together, but I hate playing the bigger armour whore clans. (Talking BF2 . . )

I reckon there's 3 things that EA need to do:
1. Lock the armour! - The enemy should not be able to steal your armour, boobytrap, sure thats okay, but who the hell leaves the keys in an M1 Abrams?
2. No "field effect" repairs - the engineers should have to get out of the tank in order to repair - also no "repair stacking" - The vehicles repair at a constant rate regardless of how many engineers try to repair.
3. Random respawn. - rather than set respawn points, the game should place you at the nearest point to the flag, out of line of site from the enemy - even if that's miles away!

they just need to stop this repair while together rubbish

ive seen on karkland 2 apcs 1 tank and 1 buggie

Yes, yesterday evening it was the tank and two APC's that just steamrolled to the other armor flag on the other side in Karkand, then it became two tanks and four APC's. I think especially number 2 and number 3 Doobiwan mentioned would help a lot.

just make the urban maps without any armor... pure infantry. should be fun. ;)

I agree that would be great at times. Just have to be done carefully that BF2 does not end up like counterstrike.

I agree with useless i'd like to see that as an option for some maps. You could keep light transports like buggies and humvees.

The worst I have seen is on Fushe and Dragon valley. I've also seen ~ 4 APC's/AA and 2+ tanks. It's impossible to beat that, even arty doesn't do enough damage fast enough. Include a few gunships or planes for air dominance and you might as well just log off.

Don't get me wrong, I enjoy armour, but I also enjoy a fair fight.

well, at least the headshots model and hitboxes arent as bad as CS... besides, on the normal maps where you get planes and choppers there are also the usual clan stacking issues which will crop up.

dont know how SGS will fix this but its for surely killing the game, specially since it comes from people who are already quite highly ranked.

It's not up to SGS unfortunately, it's up to EA.

So in other words, we're screwed. :p

Probably needs something like a random setting where at the start of each round, people are allocated randomly to the two sides and they cannot change sides themselves. Same for people joining. Sides are recreated at the start of each round. It is bad then to not be able to play with friends some rounds, but at least one can then still play. This is in addition to the repair updates you mentioned earlier.

As you say, pigs will fly before this happens. :(

Thats what I did the other night, and got a nice score even though we got a thumping

Thanks for the tip. I think there is going to be a lot more mining done in future. :D
