Clarification on Ubiquiti Bullet M2

I need to access my college WiFi from my residence which is about 600m away. After some research I realised the Bullet M2 might be a solution because its affordable and has a range in excess of 10km. I need assistance from someone who has installed it before on the following questions bcoz I'm a complete noob when it comes to WiFi and networking:
(a) do I install it at my res where I'll get the Internet or its installed at the source of the Internet? (b) if it's installed at home do I have to use an antenna or it can pick the WiFi signal from indoors?

There are some trees and the buildings but the antenna is not obstructed as it is mounted high on top of a three storey building

Also remember if your "residence" is a separate property from the college and you will be accessing the college's internet service, you would need a license from ICASA.

But bullets with with small db ptp antennas should do the trick. Also remember Bullets are really over kill for this, so turn down the power, otherwise you may end up over driving the units and they will become "deaf"

I agree with cajeptha you will need a license for that.
Is there no other way that you can have access the the varsity wifi?
Maybe you could propose something and get the niversity to fund t?

I think you are trying to "steal" wireless connection...

A powerful receiving antenna is not going to work as the AP signal (the antenna that is sending the signal) also requires to be 'Powerful' and that signal may be weak after 100 mts.

What you can do (or suggest) if actually all this is "legit" is that from the primary connection to install a "point to point" wireless connection to the residence (college residence or your private residence?) and from that point extend the network to an "indoor Access point" or to regular network cables.

No licenses are required for a setup like that as all devices are ICASA approved and the network is running in a "private" environment.

better if you get "professional" installers to do the job, as it will be done 100% at the first time. An installation like that should be around R1500 or R2000 (excluding devices) and is usually up & running in half a day.
