Please can someone clarify a package 100GB( Peak)...200GB (Late) Capped

Sounds like problems?

You’ll have to give a bit more information.
Is it a mobile or ADSL contract?
Who is the service provider?

Sounds like Openweb. The peak 100GB would then be consumed between 6am and midnight [00:00] Monday to Sunday and the "late" data will be consumed between midnight [00:00] and 6am Monday to Sunday

Right..it is Openweb..the cost for that package is R329 I am now on a 2Mbps Gold uncapped, but suddenly for a while now it takes ages to open even my homepage, and from page to page on a website it takes ages IF it opens at all, more often than not a message comes up
"connection was reset" They "fixed" it today after a strong complaint, about throttling my acc,I was told it is Telkom, Telkom could not find a problem in their network I got billed for call out ...then after my connection was "fixed" a short while later every few minutes my connection would be dropped, modem then starts up again, as soon as I get onto internet or into email again, it drops again. This carries on till after peak (after 5) and then it was stable not a problem in sight,, Problems seem to start just after 8 and resolves after 5 in the evening? Now Openweb suggests I take the 100 GB Peak..200GB late capped, which I seem to think they want to tell me will provide an uninterrupted connection during the day..when I most need it? I am ready to chuck a brick through the lot.

From the feedback of people on the forum Openweb is not held in high esteem.
Have you considered going to another ISP that could offer you a similar product. Why not test with free accounts they provide.

Save yourself the trouble and go elsewhere for your internet, just read the Openweb thread and see how they ran with their tail between their legs when exposed. There are other ISP's out there that don't BS their customers - check my signature.
You can get an uncapped account with the first 100 to 200gigs unshaped thereafter only big downloads are shaped, streaming is never shaped.

Whatever you do don't give those thieves your money!

I intend doing that (testing an account before committing) Seems like I am paying for a service/package, which i am not getting to use, until after hours, which is definitely a rip off and borders on dishonesty. I mean who is getting the benefit of the service i (and others) pay for with these people, and we can basically only use it after hours?

Hi there I was with Open Web the trial account they gave me was awesome once they had my banking details and had me hooked after two weeks my download speeds and streaming was at snail pace ... Do yourself a favour and move to a new ISP ...Open web only have good advertisement apart from that they are paperweight compared to the other ISP out there

But that said and done do your research and choose a package based on your usage because irrespective of which ISP you go you will be shaped once you reach a certain bandwidth amount.... Best of luck

This ^^ .... The truth and good advice.

If you want to go Capped then checkout WebAfrica. Their capped account works great and you don't have to worry about things like dropped connections. The OpenWeb Uncapped account is basically a vanilla IS uncapped account that's also offered by Incredible Connection but the IC account works full tilt between 5pm to 8pm and all weekend long. Shaping is heavy during 8am to 5pm though so you'll need a small capped account and schedule your large downloads until the evening.
