You're just miff because he does not have a alfa in his collection :p

Well as was said earlier, he does know and love his cars.

Having no Alfa's goes hand in hand with loving cars ;)

Clarkson does believe you are not a petrol head if you've never owned an Alfa. Its guaranteed proof you've worked under the bonnet on the side of the road. *RUN*

In all honesty if I had money to waste I would also buy an Alfa but I would NEVER recommend it to anyone else, friend or foe!

Now you're just stealing quotes from the Brera vs. RX8 vs. TT snippet :p

Personally in that price range I'd never choose a Brera over an RX8 or a TT. Whether you have the money to blow or not, why would anyone find it fun to sit on the side of the road? That aside, if you have the money to blow on an unreliable car, there are many better ones available than an Alfa. Sorry but I just don't see how a 1.6/2.0 Twinspark makes one a petrolhead just because they bought an Alfa

Anyway it's already been said that TG is a great entertainment show with a motoring spin, but if you want proper advice then you'd be better off consulting more serious articles (of which there are plenty).

Lol, this has nothing to do with rationality. Alfa's look good and drive well but that's as far as it goes. It's the worst (-)investment you could ever make with a car. It's like going with a woman that you know will ruin you but yet you still do it :D

1.6/2.0 litre does not even come into the picture, thinking their V6 models.

OMG, I hope Alfaholic does not start stalking me.

Yep I can agree on most of the V6 models (and V8 in the case of the 8C) being good while they last. And I like the women analogy. But that's as far as my love for Alfas go.

What makes me laugh is the guys who buy 4-cylinder and 2.5 V6 Alfas and then come spout that petrolhead crap that they heard on TG. It's like banging the hot chic's 12-year old sister and then calling yourself a playa :D

yeah, although there's a black 159 2.4jtd that parks at work. Everytime I walk past its looking nicer and nicer. Luckily no salesman jumps out or he may just have a sale....

Are you trying to say that they don't know their cars ,polar special, hot metal.. not too mention that manufacturers take their comments very seriously. articles might give you the NRS, but not things like ride quality, handling, interior praticality

Alfa Bashing continues by sidelined haters.

Okaaay...so I coem back in the morning hoping to read some good opinions on Top Gear's Jeremy Clarkson. But what do I get, mindless hearsay from guys who drive cerial boxes on wheels hoping to be accepted by the world as their dadies didn't show them how to double clutch as he probably drove a ghaay car as well...

As much as I'd like to order the whole of the Alfa Romeo Club of South Africa to lynch you guys I'd settle for some very decent and potent shut up debate:

First of all NO CAR is an investment unless it has passed its depreciation value and is now slowely but surely becoming a collectable or a classic...Alfa's from the 60's and 70's are collectables and classics and go for more than 100k but yet again your ignorance prevaled in this case.

When I drive around in JHB it irks me to see "other" car manufacturers stranded alongside the road, with a nice "ASSIST" vehicle standing behind it...ALL car's will leave you upset, you guys know this that's why 90% of people want cars within waranty and when it comes time for waranty to end they sell the car...this implies serious fact that the car will die on you, as proved by Germans out of waranty time and time again!:erm:

1.6/2.0 TS motors were revolutionary, just like the Nord engines, and now the BUSO engines...the V6's are definately the best to come out of Italy but I haven't driven anything else from Italy so I won't know. Same as you guys won't know because you never driven one...what is it with factless mumbo jumbo that makes you guys so hard in the pants?

It is a definative fact that Alfa's in SA brake because of the stealers and weak mechanics we have. I can call up 10+ instances where brand new Alfa's went for services and came back with error codes, clutches that brake the next week, new Brera's that overheat because someone failed to do the cooling system after it was DRAINED on a new car!:eek:You only have to ask an AlfaOwner why his/her car broke if it ever did in their time of ownership.

Lastly, Alfa bashing stems from an accute dislike for people who love cars so much that they truly enjoy the pleasures of real driving and not posing in something they think has an engine! To be part of the crowd you need to be like the crowd, and I'm affraid most Alfa bashers are part of the crowd - you so want an Alfa, but based on what you've heard from an even less informed dunce is putting you off from buying one. And please don't say you had 3 GTV's and a Sud in the 80's because you know its not even comparable, don't you get tired of NOT driving a cool car everyone admires but is too scared to own based on preconceived ideas shared by guys who DON'T know?

Your fave'd Clarkson said it, and you take everything he says to heart except what he feels for Alfa's:rolleyes: You need a twinnie in your life mate!

P.S find me a guy who drives an Alfa who can't call up great cars in this time or the previous? Alfa drivers are petrolheads...admit it. We love all cars for what they are, VW's, BMW's Mazda's, Toyota's etc...we just have a distinct taste for cars that you woefully lack...Oh...and the fact that its so tempramental builds real character in you LMAO

Blessed be the day when an Alfa driver finds a mechanic who won't mess up his car and the car's brand image...that's already tarnished. I guess this caomes with an Import car:rolleyes:

Alfa-bashing continues because of Alfa fanboys like you. Go ride around in your 2.0 and call yourself a petrolhead, rather than posting on here.
