When ever I do scan my AV software is picking something up in System Volume Information.

I have disabled system restore on the drive and restarted, but it still comes up. How do I just get rid of everything in sys vol info?

Should I just follow these http://support.microsoft.com/kb/309531 steps and delete the folder all together?

I won't cause any problems by just deleting the whole system volume information folder will I? Lose restore points obviously but I don't care about that.

I wouldn't on an OS partition. Data partition maybe.

Identify the file & remove it with a linux boot cd.

Meh, too much faffing with Linux, it's on a data partition so I might just try it. Don't see how removing it from Linux would make a difference anyway.

It's just bugging me, because I keep turning on and off sys restore to try get rid of it, but it keeps showing up when I do scans, I don't think it even is an actual virus. Shouldn't turning off sys restore remove everything in the restore folder?
