Anybody here have a click and grow ?

I have been experimenting with alternative soil to start my seeds in however it's not as good as the manufacturers pods.

The problem is the manufacturers pods are very expensive.

Any advice?

Yeah, I've got one.

Also tried a bunch of different options but found the OEM pods the best (and the most expensive) unfortunately.

I got some seed starter soil from the hydroponics online shop. Works ok but takes long to germinate

What are you trying to germinate and what do you consider long? The speed is most likely do to the nature of the device, the medium is obviously not reaching optimal temperature to speed it up.

All kinds of things. I usually grow herbs in it and take them outside once the seedlings have established.

The click and grow with my new soil does work but the water levels aren't working making the seeds get fungus.

However when I get it right the click and grow makes the plants very healthy and strong.

Atm I got coriander growing in it was able to get 6 pods out of 9 to germinate

So I'm struggling with this hit and miss. At first I thought it was the seeds. So I took the same packet of seeds and went old school with coco peat and they germinated just fine in a pot

Agreed that the original pods do grow quite well. We've only had one pod where some of the seeds in a big 9-pod box got mixed up.

Have you tried the jiffy plugs yet? They are not the usual dried ones. Like these:

I've tried them but the don't fit the cups of the click and grow nicely
