I saw a guy today at fourways mall, selling a heat pad, that you click a bi metal strip and it heats up fast, when it cools down, one simply click it again. I wonder how many times it will heat up. The big pad for the neck cost R900. It heats up to 50 degrees.

I don't think your description of this product was done well enough.

Because I don't have a ****ing clue what you are talking about.

No they don't just cool down, you need to boil them to reverse the chemical process and then use them again.

They are cheap cheap at the crazy stores.

We've had some for years that are still working fine.

This thing is a thin plastic bag, filled with jel. You can freeze it as a ice pack, or, in this case heat it. Currently my wife use a bean bag that heat up in the microwave. This one is thinner and lighter.

At Fourways they actually give the small ones away. The boiling is a pain, but the pads work very well. 900 bucks is too expensive. You can actually barter with them to drive the price down.

Eventually the plastic will rip due to the frequent boiling. The small ones lasted about 20 times.

So, I went to this guy again today to hear where I can buy this elsewhere.
Suddenly the special was still on, he said only for saturday. Today the special was only for today. I still did not buy, because everything sound so good. Anyway, seems the stuff is cheaper elsewhere.

Does the crazy store one also have a metal strip that starts a heat reaction

I was under the impression it's maybe an electric or vibration reaction but yes they have the same clicker.

it's a transparent liquid when not activated and then goes opaque when and warm when you click the button.

Then you boil it or just leave it in boiling water until it goes transparent again to re-use.

Never seen cold pack versions.
