To: [email protected] (I had to fix their damned email link too! It had an 'è' instead of an 'e'!)

Subject: SPAM

To the Marketing Manager of Clientèle Limited,

I have just received a 'Spam' message on my phone by way of the SMS service.

I did not request this message and I resent having to spend MY money (SMS cost + unknown additional fee) and MY time replying to some unknown number to 'remove my details' from YOUR database.

Are you aware that it is in fact ILLEGAL to send unwanted marketing material my way, and to refrain from supplying me with the source of my phone number? It is an offense as stated under South African law, and punishable by way of fine and/or a prison term.

Your prompt response would be appreciated, so that I may supply my number to the appropriate person for immediate removal from your database.

Lastly, congratulations on discovering the best way possible in which to NEVER get business from myself or my social circle.

Lol, good for you...Wish we could organise a huge customer backlash against these buggers. A huge blacklist to name and shame them with the aim to encourage no-one to do business with them, ever. But again, this is the cellphone networks fault too, for allowing their networks to be used to spam people.

The mobile networks are providing a carrier service.

They're not interested in what they're transmitting.

The company I work for has the ability to do provide a similiar service. We just send out what we're given. The content is the sender's responsibility.

I haven't heard back from CL, so given a few minutes of free time, I may punt my dissatisfaction on Hello Peter (a service I detest, but anyways...) later on...

Companies in ZA have NO clue how to build new business.

Just the other day I visited a local gym thanks to a friend who secured a 'visitor's ticket' for me.

I was asked to complete a form before being allowed access. The form asked me for my contact details and about my health...

1. If I am going to fill in a lot of health information, presumably to let the gym know if I will die from exertion, perhaps it is a good idea to check it before I actually go in and work out?

2. Harassing me for my contact details when you (the gym receptionist) have ADMITTED that you will be Spamming me is just absurd.

I'm sure the form went into the bin...along with my intentions of signing up.
