Hi

I have a HP 5525 printer with an almost full black ink cartridge that I think is clogged up. I haven't used my printer in over a month, and I've read that this will happen if you don't print at least once every two weeks?

All my other colours work though, and I've tried cleaning the cartridges using the printer options. I've also dipped the cartridge in warm water, and left it there for 10 minutes. When I did this, ink seeped out, and I assumed that this was the ink clogging up the cartridge. The printer still won't print black though, and when I check the cartridge ink quantity, its like 75% full.

What else can I do? Could it be another problem? I don't want to buy another black ink and still have the same issue.

Is it a genuine cartridge?
I dont know if its safe to leave it in water like that.

pop it back into VERY hot water - but this time inside a plastic bag.
leave it for 10 mins or so - take it out - give it a good shaking (while in the bag, unless you are planning to redecorate), then try again.

I will try this during my lunch time. I used normal warm water from the tap, I think I'll use boiled water this time.

You should have used warm water not cold.
If using bouling water, then place in plastic bag (mentioned above)
