Cloning software ... HDD to SSD

Sigh ... i was thinking of that the sizing issues cause i have tried to make a drive smaller once but had
a really hard time doing it ... Acronis it is ... thanx for the advice guys!

With the Windows 7 route... when you are shrinking the partition, you are directly working with / on your precious original drive and data... if there is a power failure or something before this has completed, then you have another whole issue to deal with.

The Acronis-like methods do not tamper with your original data at all... it just reads the host / source drive and does all the necessary size shrinking on the target drive.

got it ... thanx kilobits ... good catch, will def try this looks easy and seems to work well

Hey Hey, don't forget to install it today... the give away of the day is only valid for that day, you won't be able to register it later on.

We use norton ghost. PM me your email address and I will send you the 2 files needed at work tomoz. (like 6mb or so)

For best results we use the mini windows xp(runs in RAM) on the hirens boot disk so the full hard drive is cloned, where if you use your normal windows running from your HDD some files are "in use" so it doesn't clone properly.

That's why the software should make use of shadow copy to get the files that are busy.
