anyplace in south africa where i can find one?
all i can find it one for the r9 290/280 on rebeltech but its just a upgrade kit

im looking for a closed loop compleat
or a bracket,

if i use a bracket what will be better

get a dual rad and put it on the gpu or get a dual put it on the cpu and move my h55 to the gpu then?

the 970 runs very hot,and on 80%-100% fan speed it just to loud, sounds like a jet engine

or best to go full loop, but im scared to do that, scared i may **** up and kill my pc
also it cost a ton

The 970 is quite a cool card, unless you got one of the stock versions with the blower fan?

And afaik, only the 280/290 version has been released from Corsair. Anything else you'll to to make something yourself, or go for a proper loop.

70°C is just fine for the 970, I really wouldn't worry about it unless it is regularly going to 80°C where the card will start downclocking. You can't really compare it to something else either.

I've got enough spare parts from my old loop that you could probably do CPU and GPU for under 6k, and get way better temps than any closed system. I'm sure there are more second hand alternatives on carbonite

Sell it and get a better GTX 970 with a quieter cooler? The ACX 2.0 coolers on these Maxwell cards are much less efficient than the older designs on the Kepler and Fermi ACX designs. This is because EVGA only puts two of the heatpipes on the GPU heatspreader itself and has one of the heatpipes exposed at the end, reducing its effectiveness. The fan design also isn't good for low noise output, because the blades have swapped their orientation in return for more air pressure at higher speeds.

if the air one fits on my case :/
need to see how long it is

high air cooler vs low closed loop (hmm)

Yeah I have the MSI R9 270 2gig 256bit OC card. On Dota i get around 80 degrees if i dont have the fans cranked up and when i play Shadow of Morder on a MUCH higher graphics setting i get like 70 odd degrees. I assumed Dota 2 puts more strain on your CPU rather than your GPU, but yeah screw logic...

On that note. Let me know what you end up getting. I was planning on getting the Kraken G10 water bracket and then getting a 120m AIO, but it only works with asetek coolers, meaning i would need to stick with some of the crappy NZXT coolers instead of the Coolermaster seidon 120V (preferred choice for this). I have an artic accellero twin turbo II which i used on my previous card, but that only works on boards which have a PCB width of 92mm (mine being around 120mm). So yeah im very vested in this thread!

see they cost almost R900 just for the bracket and its a ton then i have to buy a cooler also, but can fit a dubbel rad one on

i like the beefie air cooler

but the water one looks alot cleaner, and may give me the same performance
that way i can set it up so it gets fresh air and dont use the hot air in the case

but cant make up my mind air vs water, they cost the same so price dont matter

I would always go water cooling over air tbh. Its cleaner, quieter and looks a lot more badass in your case ;), especially if you deck it out in LEDs . My only issue is board compatibility. I read somewhere that MSi don't like people putting aftermarket coolers on so they deliberately make their boards incompatible.... :'(

it also my be used to my 460 that never hit over 53*c under max load
(had a custom cooler)

now gaming and its at 70-80*c its just way to hot for my taste
its a evga 970 sc 2.0
i looked at full loop but dam will kill me and my pocket

R6000 :/

Landmark is heavily overpriced when it comes to custom WC products. If you're OK with importing I'd recommend you have a look at EKWB. Locally, I'd say Titan-ice is the only store that isn't grossly overpriced on WC gear.

Edit: Just be aware of the possible warranty implications of adding any aftermarket coolers to your card.
