Closer Plan 5

Hi Guys and Gals

I was wondering if its worth getting this plan 5, as my phone bill is +-750 a month, with DSL 384k. Do i have to sign a contract if i want to get this plan, if so for how long? How long does it take to get this package activated and my line speed bumped up to 4mb? If the line prices come down, do the plan prices decrease as well?

If there is anything i have missed to ask, or anything at all, pls post a reply.

Line prices aren't expected to come down for at least a year...
As for the upgrade to 4MB, some people have waited 4 months, others on the forum waited on the telephone and had it done in under 10mins..

Seems like it will benefit you, as long as most of your calls aren't going to cellphones.

Definately go the closer route if you're using the same line for voice and ADSL. Remember, there is the closer 4 option as well (same as 5, but at 384k). Closer doesn't require any contratc - you can stop it at any time. Line speed upgrade shouldn't take long (maybe a day), but with Telkom around it could get tricky.

Taken off the Telkom website, im confused now.

I want 4MB basiclly for the same price as wat im paying now .

I think what they mean is that the closer option itself doesn't involve any long term contract, only a month to month commitment. I have closer 5 with no long term commitment.

If you don't need the 4mb then closer 4 is an option for you as well. You bill should come down to R500 per month on a closer 4 provided you don't make any cell phone calls. Even if you do, it should be a lot less then 750.
