Thought I would get some opinions here on the matter. Our company website is up for a revamp, and I want to change CMS platforms. It's currently on a custom CMS developed by an ISP. What platforms are your company websites hosted on? Joomla? We are considering Joomla, thought I would check and see what others to consider?

we are using MURA, pretty much the same thing as Joomla, but is built on a coldfusion back end, leading to better integration as we are all coldfusion developers, and everything we build is in that.

so find a CMS that you can do custom dev for in the languages you already work in otherwise what is the point?

Wordpress for brochureware. Drupal for more complex stuff. Assuming you'll actually be managing content, that is. Depends on your in-house skillset, as Baksteen says.

I would go with Wordpress due to the access to Wordpress skills in the local market.

You can get top notch themes from the guys at Obox Themes for next to nothing, your SEO guy can easily install his required plugins, copywriters and content managers find it easier to use. And its easier to find hosting provider for Wordpress.

I use to work at a digital agency and I recommended Wordpress after investigating all the other options. There was not a single objection from anybody in the company as they all had experience using it.

wordpress or Joomla depending on what extras you need

Slightly different point of view - which one is less prone to being hacked?

I remember doing a few Joomla sites and they were hosted with various random providers over the years. All of these were hacked due to the exploits uncovered within these CMS templates etc..

Any advice on this front?

Drupal is updated on regular intervals, but only Joomla 1.5 is secured according to the hosting entities.

Joomla themselves:

We would like to clear the air, even though Joomla 1.5 is not officially supported any more, it is still a secure system as long as you have a patch for the one reported issue in place. There are no known vulnerabilities with Joomla 1.5.26.

Then again, 1.5(.26) is old news and unsupported.

What are your guys thoughts on concrete5? I am also shopping around for a CMS that will be placed in a revamped website.
