I'm so annoyed with the naming people chose for cocoa and cacao as it's so sneaky!

I never knew that the two different spellings even existed, until now :(

As some of you might know, cacao is the real deal and healthy for you, whereas cocoa is just not.

Here I'm merely buying choccies from woolies thinking it's the real thing, but alas, pretty much everything they sell is cocoa, I feel ripped off and taken advantage of, but it's my own fault for not knowing better.

Anyone else fell for this "sneaky naming" marketing?

Sure, but there is a reason why cacao it is processed into cocoa and mixed with other ingredients. Unfortunately, authentic cacao based "chocolate" with natural ingredients tastes like bark flavoured sand pie (although most organic health nuts will never admit it).

Most "chocolate" bars today taste like ****ing plastic/wax/god knows what. Yugh.

As per your article:
Cocoa is processed cacao that has been roasted at high temperatures.
You're still getting the thing that's crucial in chocolate: A product derived from cacao. Almost all commercial chocolate is made from processed cacao. Besides - if you're buying chocolate from woolworths for health I doubt health is your real concern what with all the other crap added.
