COD 4 MP Issue!!

Hi Guys,

I have finally lost my temper with this stupid software I am using to connect to COD4 servers and have decided to investogate alternatives..

I am HLSW to connect to games but when servers are full and I wait for a slot the software start up the game when it sees a spot open, but then all i get is "sever is full". Also not to mention that COD4 takes a good 40 - 50 seconds to start up..

When i run COD4 MP, the SA servers dont show up in the list, WHY? Also every time I want to change servers, I have to close COD4 down, open HLSW and restart the game, so Annoying!!!

How do I add them manually? I must be daft cause I cant see where :|

I can always join fine if there is space, as soon as they full, I wait, and connect when HLSW says there is a slot, but by the time COD has laoded someone else has got there before me :(
 
Use the favorites thingie. Forgot how it works exactly...but you can add an IP somewhere there.
 
irt your COD4 taking ages to open, it generally takes a while if your PC is using DHCP from your modem. Manually set an IP addy for your PC and set your DNS servers (I use 196.25.255.3 & 196.25.255.34 -SAIX acc) and there shouldn't be any delay in the gaming opening.
Remember, when you select connect and it wait for an open slot chances are someone else is doing the same thing and their PC just starts up COD4 quicker so they get the slot. HLSW is awesome an I only use it for connecting to any server.
 
U can also trying to change the splash screen of COD4 for some reason COD2 and 4 loads 80% of the time faster. I don't know why it works but it just it could be something totally different but o well.

I am using my original CD key that no one else has used, well at least I hope not! :D

I have added the servers to my favourites in the game which makes life so much easier....Normally I would fire up HLSW, and if for example a server had 23/24 players (which is very common) I would quickly click join, and wait probably about 2 minutes for COD4 to fire up by which time someone else has taken my slot...Very annoying!

U can remove it but that does not seem to improve loading times, aslo it looks then like your game does not start. U have to change it convert a jpg into a bmp. Smaller size splash screen seems to do the trick.

The file is called "cod.bmp" location COD directory file.(where ever u installed it)

C:\programfiles\activision\...
