Hey there,

I have been playing with my bro on the same adsl lime for some time now without problems untill recently.
We both joined the open warfare server to play a clannie.
I got kicked for a cl_maxpacket error from punkbuster.
Afterwords the guys on the oposing team told me to type the following command in the console:cl_maxpacket 70 . the default value for this is 30.
I rejoined the server and that is when the problems started.
Bot me and my bro had pings of 300+ on this local clan match server.
that made the game pretty much unplayable to say the least.
Afterwords I set the value to the default of 30. that did not solve the problem. pings stayed at about 380 each.

I have pretty much tried everything to solve the issue to no avail.
I have removed the open warfare mod and so have my bro.
I have reinstalled the game I have switched the ISP accounts and have also tried playing without routesentry running. None of these things seemed to help.We are both playing with vista on a 384 dsl line and it seemed fine for a couple of months up till now, so I cant think it has something to do with the line.....

Hopefully some of you might be able to think of something that I havent thought of .

Thanks in advance

Oops I posted this in the wrong area :p

Could a admin move it?

I had a virus that did the same thing to one of the PC's on my network. It would use the internet in some manner.

It had my ping on BF2 jumping around from 20 to 300.
On a 4mb line.

Ran Malwarebytes and it sorted it. So I rate try to find out if it is a pc causing the problems or your line.
Switch off all the pc's on the network then switch them on one at a time till you find the culprit. Run some antivirus software and see if it clears it up.
