Hey guys!

Could someone please tell me WHAT Promod is, WHERE I can get it from & HOW to install it?

I've hunted around & am a lil confused as to what it is... :confused:
 
Install it where? On your own gaming server?
Promod is a mod for COD4 which only contains Search and Destroy. Its almost like playing CS. Its also much harder than for e.g playing on a hardcore server.

join the server and it will install it self.
Promod removes the airstrikes the perks and chopper.
 
Its like the real game only its not how the developers wanted you to play it :)

Some other minor changes are the removal of ambient smoke and effects, also its limited to only a handful of maps that are deemed to be "balanced".
 
Theres also a TDM version of Promod.

You can not select perks. All perks that are considered "Noobeish" are removed. Martyrdom, Grenade launcher etc. (Not that I consider these noobeish)

LMGs are removed. Some Smg's are removed and the G3 is fully automatic. I think the default FOV is also 80/90. In normal Cod its 65.
 
Awesome thanks guys! I wasnt sure if it was a Mod, a big Mod, that I would have had to have downloaded & installed myself.

Kyubi Promod actually added in rate of fire limiters on the single fire weapons including pistols and the G3 and M14 to balance out the game.

The mod is targeted at competitive gamers and was created to make COD4 more playable at competition level. :P

Try it and if you don't like it don't play it :D
 
I tried it out a few times. Its tons of fun, but I prefer playing Call of Duty normal mode. I like the Perk / Kill-streak system. I also like the soundtrack etc. in normal Mode. The soundtrack has been removed from Promod :(

Another reason why I don't play Promod because there are only 4 members in my clan at the moment. We play recreational and hopefully for Modern Warfare 2 we will have more members then we can play competitive and enter Promod Modern Warfare 2 clan games :)
 
The public play is freaking awesome, and I logged many MANY hours playing on public servers. However I just find that the removal of the random perks and balancing out the weapons, make the 74u a proper SMG and removing the LMG makes the game more balanced :P

Albeit a little more bland. But that is not what we are talking about here :P lol
 
Just a heads up when you have played PROMOD and you return to the normal servers you will have to set your rate back to 15000 otherwise the punkbuster will kick you for CVAR RATE. If you dont know how to do it here is how.

Before you enter the normal server agian bring up the console with the tilda key ~ and type "/rate 15000" without the quotes and enter and press esc to get out of the conole.

Ps. I know 99% know this but we get alot of people still asking how.
