COD4 Punk Buster HELP?

Hey guys! I just bought COD4 today. I managed to instlal the game successfully along with Punk Buster which was installed from the Game CD.

I then went along to install the Patches. Updating me to 1.7

I then Installed the COD4 Map Pack from SAIX.

I then changed my Rate to 1500 & did the whole /r_lodscalerigid "1" & /r_lodscaleskinned "1".

However when I start a game. I get a ton of Punk Buster Errors.

I get this one here:

Punk Buster Reports PB Server Running Old Version C2.122

Then I get told that:

Insomniac PunkBuster kicked player "Insomniac" (for 0 minutes)
... PB INIT FAILURE (If this persists, visit evenbalance.com and click support to manually update Punbuster)

I tried the Manual Update & it updates fine. I even used the Auto Updater & that went smoothly.

However when I play I STILL get that darn error. I have NO other games that use PunkBuster.

I've even reinstalled the game 3 times now.

Please someone help me out.

How many times did u update PB with pbsetup?(till its say's your fully updated)
Well there is nothing wrong with the game so reinstalling it would do nothing.
But sometimes restarting your pc and trying again would help.
It happens to a lot of people once happened to me 10 times in a row.

Hey there! Thanks for replying! I updated PB using PBSetup, till I got the message at the end saying I was Fully Updated.

I managed to Google the error & discover it was my Server file for PB that was updating properly. I then downloaded the Server file, solved my old problem, but gave me a whole new shiny problem.

I ended up copying a friends PB folder & that seemed to work. *touch wood*

I dislike PB like hell because when we want to lan this *****ty thing kicks in and u can't create a game without it HOW !@#$ stupid.
