Finished the single player, now I wanted to try the multiplayer. I get the following error:

"Playlist error, please restart COD4 or logoff live and log back in"

Tried that a few times and no luck. Anybody else also had this problem?

Don't have the game yet, but the first querstion would be - did you play the beta, if yes,
Maby delete the cod4 beta info in the memory -.

Or delete your saved games, and start mp again.

I did play the beta, and it worked fine. I deleted the demo and any other COD4 info from the hard drive (the ones I could find), before putting in the COD4 DVD that I bought.

I also cleared the cache from the hard drive. The only thing I haven't done yet is to delete my saved games and start over again.

Thanks Ewie. I see I'm not alone with this problem. Cannot believe they broke the multiplayer in the final release. It was working great in the Beta release.

Hopefully there will be a update/patch soon. I'm writing an exam on thursday and then I'm flying off for a 3 week holiday. Hopefully by the time I get back all of this would have been fixed.

I've had the issue once or twice but I found the following seems to make it work:

1. Trying joining via a different person in the game

2. Don't join from the dashboard. Go into the game, go into matchmaking and try to matchmake first - it should pick up any required updates.

on 2. What also happened to me is that there are typically only a few ZA games on the go at any one time. I got gatvol and just went matchmaking and ended up in the game I wanted!

I haven't played online yet. If I go to multiplayer, only Free for All and team deathmatch is available. And the game shows me that 0 players are online. I got invited a few times, but I kept getting the error of the playlist.

Isn't there an option to reload the playlist (maybe press XXYBB LT RT BYYXX, etc).

Thats why i went the PC route on this option. was a tough choice... but there are 3 dedicated local servers, always full with 24 people, ranked ftw. L:D

Unfortunately I can't give you "The fix" as it usually just comes right with a bit of fiddling. The one thing I will say though (sorry if you know this already) is that you must watch the top right hand corner of the screen, that's where it gives the status mesages which are usually quite helpful.

Thanks Doobiwan. I have to study anyway :D for my exam on thursday. Just wanted a quick game.

Activision support just keep saying that I need to open up ports on my router, but all my other Xbox360 games works online (Gears of War, GRAW2, Halo3, Worms).

To check your router is OK just goto the Dashboard System blade and do a Xbox LIVE test. If it comes back as OPEN then your router is working just great. Otherwise try apply some router tweaks from the local Xbox 360 forums.

In terms of the game content not being updated, the problem occurred during the beta as well. I found that if I shutdown my console completely a few times it managed to sort itself out. It seems to be some form of corrupted state information that is being persisted.

Hmm, you might try something that worked for BioShock - as you start the game hold down (I think) the LB and RB buttons for the duration of the loading (until you get to "push start") and it should clear the game cache.

Nope didn't work. I spoke to my brother-in-law who lives in Malaysia and he said that they also experience the same problem. He invited me to their games and after a while I could connect. Played for a short while before losing connection to the server.

When I played COD4 Beta multiplayer, i use to play multiplayer with him a lot and I never had any problems. I hope they release a patch soon to fix this problem.

Thanks to everyone for trying to help.
