hi there

I usually use an E272 on vodacom to play Cod5 WAW multiplayer, but on friday afternoon it stopped letting me connect to the authentication server. I thought it was the games master server that was down but it appears I was wrong. All players on 3G and IBurst appear to not be able to connect to the master authentication server for World At War and therefore are unable to play.

Nothing changed on my side and this seemed to appear out of nowhere.

Any advice would be appreciated as this is my favorite game and now i can't play it.

Thanks :)

Vodacom needs to catch a wake up. I have a clan match against UBS today that I won't be able to play.

Needless to say I am not impressed with this load of crap of needing to apply for an unrestricted APN that I'll only be able to fax tomorrow....

Vodacom went and made changes at my expense. Idiots!

How would vodacom employees feel if you can't use your credit cards due to some system fault that I should have monitored/fixed.

Iburst is also affected- Go read this post:

so the world is coming to an end because you cant play games:cool:

It's the lack of the service that I pay for that's an issue.

Do you like getting a raw deal oomtas?

If so I would understand your useless comment.

Gaming is something we enjoy oomtas, just because you don't play games doesn't make it unimportant to others who do.

Secondly, since you don't play games you shouldn't even be posting stupid, pointless comments in this topic. Perhaps you should take up gaming so that you can more effectively fill your time.

On topic: What would prompt them to block ports for a game on Friday afternoon?!!?

Well whoop de doo for you. But i actually like things to WORK and get what i pay for. AND gaming is my hobbie that I love doing so if it is not working i will try and find out what is going on.

Obviously you enjoy posting sarcastic off-topic comments on forums so imagine if you couldn't do that anymore. Imagine if you payed every month so that you could browse the internet and you couldn't. Oh well if i can't i can't right?

Go troll somewhere else.

not bitching not trolling ...not being a spoilt brat like you is what am not being.

Everyone deserves a degree of consumerism but if you don't want to help by faxing trough the form for the unrestricted apn to be activated how do you expect to get service ?

There were time constraints. That has obviuosly lapsed now.

The telecoms industry in this country needs to be held more accountable for EVERYTHING, to minimise the impact to us consumers. I pay for the service and functionality and expect it to work. If you are willing to accept bad service OOmtas, be my guest. I however am not willing to accept it.

Once again.... i have a right to bitch if something i am paying for is not working. Whether it is for browsing the internet, checking email or playing games. If i expect to get what i pay for then, yes i am a spoilt brat.

Also if you read carefully, no one said they were unwilling to fax the form. If indeed that is the remedy to the problem, which was the point of this topic: To find a fix to the problem.

lol, sick'm BiowolfZA- Thanks bud. Don't worry about this weekend warrior..
I'm not getting into an argument with a person that has waaaaay too much time on his hands.

Have you applied for the unrestricted APN?

Yep you're right, not worth the effort

Nope haven't had a chance yet, what about you? I was hoping the vodacom rep would comment on this but no luck :(

I have, now the wait. I'll drop you a line if mine sorts the issue out. Nothing like customers trying to fix their own problems...

I`d suggest that once you have the unrestricted APN`s and actually connecting to it . Then post your findings until now everyone's under assumptions:cool:

There is only 1 common thing in this whole 3G/Iburst mess -Vodacom

From experience in these types of things it seems they went and blocked ports on the traffic in/out, so in theory the un-restricted APN should sort that out.

I will be posting my finding the minute the request has been completed.

So to who where and when did you send the request as you can hurry it up by dialing 155 and asking them to check ?
