Basically she claims to need to take 8 adcodol tabs average a day to deal with the pain, migraines and aches associated with Lupus and get through the day, which according to the husband hasn't officially been diagnosed. There's been ongoing blood tests etc, but no official diagnosis as of yet.

His reasoning points to the adcodol itself being the cause of the pains, migraines and aches. And yes, there is depression in the mix too.

A ****ty situation to be in.

Only 8?? (Sarcastic voice). I know someone who takes much more than that daily PLUS grandpa. He's had 3 blood transfusions in the past for to bleeding ulcers from it, but still can't give up or go for help.
You can only beg them so much to give up before you give up begging.

This is sad, and i really hope she can get some help to sort it out...

The thing with being addicted to meds like this is that they are the reason you end up with consistent headaches, pains etc..(i dont have proof, its my opinion)... reason i say this is my wife used to suffer with Migranes alot, body pains etc... at one point she was also becoming addicted to Adcodol, until i saw what was happening and stopped it then and there... then i took her to our doc's, they did a whole range of tests, a few minor issues, nothing crazy, and they gave her some meds(natural/herbal) to reset her body, and those magnesium fizzies(her mag count was abit low and could account for the headaches) and now she only has pain killers if its a must... Thankfully, she saw the effect of this type of addiction and she now stays far away from it...

I sincerely wish the same good end result for your friends... It is really difficult to get off this type of behaviour, especially since she's been doing it for about 5 years... but she needs to acknowledge she has an issue first....

Eight a day is nothing. Frikkin noobs. My first wife was taking that just to fall asleep at night. No big deal.

You say first wife... did that have anything to do with why she's no longer your wife (emotional problems, etc)?

Sort of. Not long after the divorce she did her first stint at rehab for drug addiction. She was on sterner stuff than adcodol by then.
