Codeplex shutting down

It's been around for 10 years but if you don't do any .net development you probably might not have paid much attention to it (though it wasn't exclusive to .net).
This is linked to the move to Github by the looks.

You are surprised that I'm surprised that people are surprised that something I am surprised existed has been surprisingly shut down.

It shows just how wide diverse the industry is. Out of the hundreds of developers I know, not even one of them does .net for a living, which from he OPs second post probably explains my ignorance.
