Hi There,

Hoping to get some guidance, I am trying to find a trustworthy and reputable dealer to evaluate some old R1 & other various coins that I have. I have tried to look at a few places and have absolutely no clue where to really begin.

My dad has been accumulating these old R1 coins since 1977 to 1989 if I remember correctly, and I would like to get them evaluated and hopefully trade them/add in the shortfall to get a silver/gold bar to keep as a remembrance of my dad. Just thought it would be a good way to remember him and keep it for life.

If anyone can recommend a good and reputable company that wont screw me over on the price,I would appreciate it.

Unfortunately, R1 coins after 1970 were made of nickel and minted in large quantities so they aren't worth much unless they are proof coins in their proof boxes. R1 coins from 1965 to 1969 were made of silver and are generally far more valuable with certain low mintage ones such as the Afrikaans 1965 one being worth small fortunes.
