Anyone playing this game yet?

Jissis it's awesome, played to 25% last night with and average finish of 3rd and 41 podiums with 33 wins (I think).

Anyhoo, graphics are better than Forza2 in my opinion and the car response and game are second to none.

Yes it's awesome I'm on tier 4 now 18% complete.

I have Forza2 on xbox and Dirt on pc.

Considering trading Forza2 however for Dirt.

Plays nicely on my 22" 1680x1050 using a 8800GTX. I have been playing with the wireless controller and it's much better than my old logitech controller.

Now only if I had enough cash to get the logitech G25:)

Yeah, I'm on tier 4 as well. Some of the forest races are very hard. I came 12th and 20th in a few of them but apart from about 7 DNF's i've won every one I've raced in.

Bought the EvoIV, that thing is a beast. Handles very well too.

I'm playing on my 42" plasma with Mission surround sound. It is awesome. I sit on the end of my coffee table which is about 1.5 meters from the telly. Feels almost real, the game really sucks you in.

Yes I'm renting it over the weekend for my xbox360 and playing it on my plasma.

Im playing most of the races on amateur cause semi pro is a bit to tough for me:)

I love the detail on the cars and the replays. I could sit and watch some of the replays more than once. I also like the damage model.

It is a perfectly rounded game. I'm also playing on amateur. What appeals the most to me is I'm not the type to sit and try stages over and over again to get that extra 1 second. This alows you to progress easily if you play on an easy level which makes the game more attractive. I admit that the only reason I got an XBox was for when mates come over and we have a braai and a few dops.

Yes totally off topic ,but I enjoy my xbox the most when I have friends over for a liquor fest and playing Guitar Hero 2:eek:

After spending 3 days downloading this while softcapped, this game made me realise that my 'super fast' ATI X850XT was officially obsolete. I felt like crying.

Well if the rumours are true you'll be able to get a 360 core + memory card for R2000 in a month or two, which will be cheaper than a gfx upgrade . . .

Lol.. ya only problem is the HDTV screen to go wit the Xbox is another R6000 :P

But ill probly get one hey. when it comes down.. how much is the guitar for Guitar hero 2 :P

Oh, just need the crack now, then i can see if its worth the buy :)

Not really, you just need a vga cable. But then a big HDTV screen is required to truly appreciate the experience.

The problem is....
1. Do I buy the PC version and have the joy of using the Logitech DFP. 7800GT should be OK still
2. Buy the 360 version, use the current controller until the wheel is available here, and don't have to worry about performance
3. 1&2 :)

I would say number 2.

Dirt needs a powerful pc to get the best in the visual department.

I've been practicing with Colin McRae 4 on my Xbox controller and I must admit it's not thaaaaaat difficult. Console based first person shooters still baffle me.

As mentioned, just plug it into PC with the VGA cable in the interim. Even on a Std telly DiRT looks awesome - I think they actually render the game in 480p, as opposed to some games that rely on the scaler chip, but that makes bloom and HDR go all muddy.

On the controller thing, just "roll" the stick, don't "waggle" it ;)
