Because of the long time it took my international parcel to arrive (3months) at my local Sapo branch, i cannot collect it myself as i am away on business. I am worried it might "go missing" while i am away. Can a friend go collect it on my behalf using my tracking number+reference code?

I think if you write a signed letter, give him a certified copy of your ID, and he brings his ID, he might be able to.

Thanks for a speedy response. I am not exactly in a place to get a fresh certified copy out of my own. Will his id alone and maybe an old certified copy (filed one) do the trick?

They probably won't even notice, so you should be okay.

But I don't really know to be honest, I am really not sure.

Have never been asked for identification when collecting parcels, I usually just go with the tracking number, or send our driver with the tracking info to collect.

I have to show ID (Drivers licence is OK) every time.

Haven't tried collecting for someone else before.

Don't forget the new customs clearance fee/stealth-tax...

Seems it differs branch to branch, and who ever is behind the desk... thanks for the responses. will just have to try
