I started yesterday, Monday, a Basic Ambulance Assistance course, which spans 5 weeks. Entire fee is R9k. So I'm 2 days in.

Deposit is 5k.

Paid full R9k. Now, I got an attractive call today for a job offer, I went for an interview 2 weeks back.

Their terms and conditions say they don't refund after registration, of which I've done.

No recourse? As I'm considering the the offer.

Ps. Haven't spoken to management yet. But assistant lady says she doubts they'll budge.

OMG, R9k down the drain :O

Ask the company offering the job if they can wait for you 5 weeks.
It's not unreasonable, most people are on a month's notice.

Is the course related or beneficial to the new job? If so, I'm sure the employer will understand.

If they want you that badly then make the company reimburse you for the course.

I've done this when moving companies. I've had the new company pay my study debt at the old company.

The guys in IT, no way the new company is going to spring for an un-related field of study.
