Hi All,

I moved departments about 3 Months ago, as I wanted to gain more product knowledge in the field that I work in.
1 month after I moved, the whole system was changed, my salary is now based 30% on targets, and only 70% Basic.
I know the guy who I took over from and he didn't have anything like that.

I am at a point where I am thinking of proposing to my GF and cant have a unsteady income, as I know, the targets are extremely high and are not achievable.

If I knew this was the case, I never would have moved.

To me - this is the company being unfair as I was only told about this once I was in the new position and my old spot had already been filled.

I have made it clear with my manager how I feel and Its a case of move me or lose me - up to them.

I am at a point where I am thinking of resigning without another job. What would your options be?

If you can prove this, then do it. They would then be forced to adjust them I'd think.

In this economic climate, are you insane?

It is somewhat easier to find another job, while you are employed... as opposed to finding a job when you are unemployed. If you are without a job, potential employers may be more inclined to offer you peanuts, should they be interested in hiring you...

Dude, I was involved in comm only, as in 100% comm, jobs many times, stick with the 70% basic until you have something better, or the situation there changes to your satisfaction.

How did they change the structure after you moved? Surely when you moved, you would have an updated contract stipulating your pay? They would then be bound by this contract...

Lol... :wtf: Those kinda contradict each other.

You've done the right thing, talking up and voicing your concerns. If they dont come to the party look for other work. But dont quit without anything else lined up. Apart from the obvious possibility of not having any income, the hassle of explaining why you left and were unemployed at your next interviews would be a pain in the ass.
