C'mon, guys, he played up a standard stereotype of communism... well, technically dictatorship. The idea is understood. No-one is served by dragging the thread down into the paddling pool rather than discussing the ramifications of ministers arbitrarily deciding what looks good in the papers and discarding other information.

Personally I reckon it just ties in with the growing role of government in covering our eyes, ears and mouths.
