Hi,

For those who travel from Sandton, Johannesburg to work in Arcadia, Pretoria would you please share your experiences on the daily commute.
What is the travel time and what are the traffic conditions like?
What is your travel cost by car or if you use the Gautrain?

Any information or recommendations that you have will be very helpful.

Thanks.

Gautrain for sure!

Don't even have to do the cost calculations, it's cheaper and faster via Gautrain. You can walk from Hatfield to Arcadia Commute from Sandton to Hatfield is around 40 minutes via Gautrain give or take 5 minutes

Plus factor in things such as being able to work/read/chill on the train...
No real stress like idiotic taxi's etc- If I could do this, I would.

I travel out of Sandton every morning and back every afternoon.
M1 South is always blocked up and the M1 North is the same in the afternoon- I truly feel sorry for these folks.

This doesn't take into account the traffic with construction etc within the CBD.

I was, up until recently, doing the Sandton-Midrand Gautrain route. It's about 10 minutes by train to Midrand. A month's worth of trips was R1253 I think (thats's 44 trips - 2/day).

Doesn't include bus trips which are R8 (peak) if you took a train within an hour of boarding the bus.

Sorry..
Having a slow Monday, I mean Tuesday- just realised that you're travelling out of Sandton towards PTA.

I still think there's merit in taking the train
