The Compact Flash cards are actually tough to get, relative to SD cards :/

The only one's I've found are SandDisk Ultra II 4GB and Sandisk Ultra 8GB. He didn't know the speeds on the phone, but I assume Ulta is only 30MB/sec and the first card is too small :/

I'm going to Northgate after work, so hopefully I can find some

What does Sandisk come in anyway?

Ultra (30MB/sec), Extreme (60MB/sec) and Pro (90MB/sec)?
Simple as that?

A CF card at almost R14k?! Taking away the capacity, I'd love to see the difference in speed ...

Only a complete idiot would buy this now. Wait two years and the price will be down to R1k.

Or someone like bwana who could actually make good use of the speed, and sell the resulting pictures. For what it's worth, 100mb/s is not enough to keep up with the 7D's 8 FPS in RAW, forget about the 1DmkIV.

lol. On one 32gb card I can fit 4500jpgs, 1020 RAW, or 1700 M-RAW which is plenty.

I prefer not to reformat a card until it's on at least two different hdds, so for the price of one of these new cards I'd rather get the 7 32gb ones. :D

So if anyone wants some 128GB 100MB/s CF cards at a more reasonable price, I'll be in S.A. in December ;)

I was commenting on the speed, not the size. But yeah, I agree. I couldn't even bring myself to get the 90MB/s 32GB one over the 60MB/s one. I wish I had bought two though - ran out of space halfway through the festival

I'm not worried about the "slow" speed of my 32gb cards. It equates to a burst of 26RAW/60+MRAW/250JPGs on my 7D. Buffering is a big problem on my 1Dmk3 but a faster card won't change that.

Me neither. I can bust 20 frames RAW at full speed on the 7D with the 60MB/s card before it starts slowing down, and I never ever have a need for that. My bigger concern is getting the damn thing to focus right :(

It's under warranty right? Take it in and have Canon sort it out.

Sending it on Monday - have the day off so I can actually get to the post office.

I really wanted to get it exchanged as soon as I discovered the problem, but that was just after the earthquake in Japan and no one here had stock... I've sent it to Canon once already. It came back better, but still nowhere near as consistent as I'm used to with the 40D/50D.
