Hi,

I came across this article:
https://mybroadband.co.za/news/fibr...vice-providers-there-are-in-south-africa.html

The question I have is, is the 35 listed names the complete list of companies that is deploying fibre cables? Or is this just a list of companies that sell fibre packages, and in this case who is all the companies that are deploying fibre cables?

Currently Openserve is almost complete installing fibre in my area(probably 3 more months or so), but I don't want to touch them with a 100m pole, so I'm looking for other providers to register for interest and then proceed around the neighborhood like a cookie scout spreading awareness for them.

Also, if possible, can someone post who would be the best? I know this will probably be biased, but I'm sure there are providers to not touch at all like Openserve.

Hi Marcell

Same story here with regards to our Complex. Openserve came in, damaged property, did their own thing to get the infrastructure inside and still took them a full year to get the backhaul sorted. Currently busy with a FTTH project and requested owners not to sign up with them (a few who have so far, only have bad stories to tell and Openserve have still not provided them with a fibre service)

We're currently dealing with a company called Edge Telecoms. Try and give them a shout. Very professional and thorough

Doesn't look like they're a viable option though:

Taking more than a year to install fibre, no thank you

I would go with Vumatel, Openserve or SADV. Even without working there, I would see the other players as "bakkie brigade" with limited resources and importantly limited ISP's on their networks, or worse completely closed access like vodacom.

PM me and I can look if we at SADV can assist you.

Someone probably made bot accounts to sign vumatel's signatures, because from last week until today, our area went from 20k to 25k signatures. Now I wait 9 months I guess xD
