What is the best way possible to go forward? We are constantly getting bad mouthed and attacked by a company for no reason. We have never met the owner and or any people that has ever worked for them. The other day the owner of that company had come towards our employee and started attacking him and shouting, there is more but what is the best way to go forward?

Create several hundred Facebook and Twitter profiles and constantly post negative things about the company and personal attacks on the owner.

holy cow. makes no sense! back up and start from the beginning!

lol, to make it easier to understand. The company that is bad mouthing and constantly talking rubbish and spreading lies is what some would call a "competitor". They are in the exact same business as us. We have had numerous calls from people saying that they are constantly bad mouthing us publicly. Two weeks ago the owner approached our employee and started going off at him and started offering their business to our customer while mid conversation. I do not want to say too much but basically the owner needs a sense of direction as to how to stop them from spreading nonsense in the manner they are. Do we make it clear to them that we are aware of the way they are spreading rumors and lies etc?

For a start, politely schedule a meeting with them and have a very calm discussion in which you ask why. Don't argue back in that meeting. Just listen and minute.

Thank you, this is a possibility but probably not likely as they have made it very clear we are the enemy and are not allowing their business to grow. I will however mention this in a meeting.

Business 101. Destroy the Competition and enjoy the monopoly.

Lay a charge at the police station, if possible. Make sure everyone knows how they are conducting themselves. Even better if the police could visit their offices, so that everyone can see.

My suggestion was before you subsequently said your two companies are competitors. We posted at the same time.

A meeting might not be feasible after all. However experience tells me that politeness and professionalism are essential. Never stoop to the level of denigrating or bad-mouthing them. And ignore the silly suggestions about spamming them - that's immoral, for a start; their bad behavior cannot ever justify yours.

No problem, one thing I always say is you can copy and paste a business but you cannot copy and paste professionalism. I will definitely take your advice.
